Facilities
Operating Rooms
Innovative and high-quality facilities, worthy of a world-class specialty hospital.
We have six operating rooms and a toco-surgery area. Each of the rooms is equipped with modern, high-quality, SATURN operating tables from Trumpf Medical. Given their characteristics, these tables allow us to perform various procedures, from general to orthopedic surgery. They are also useful for bariatric procedures due to their 350-kilogram capacity and their 60-degree angulation.
Our operating rooms are also equipped with two-satellite LED surgical lights that self-adjust via infrared light. Each of them have between 3 and modules, which allow for the intensity of the light to be adjusted as required by the surgery being performed. Two of our ORs are also equipped with cameras (telescopic camera cranes with 26-inch, high-definition monitors) for video recording and remote monitoring.
Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
It is an area dedicated to patients in critical condition, therefore requiring their monitoring, treatment, and care to be conducted in an organized and systemized manner by following specific norms and keeping written records.
Our critical care facilities are especially designed to meet the most rigorous international standards and provide our patients with high-quality healthcare through the use of cutting-edge electromedical equipment.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The NICU is the place where our doctors and nurses provide 24/7 care and monitoring to premature or critically ill babies born either in the hospital or outside of it. It encourages an early infant-parent attachment, and focuses on creating both safe and comfortable conditions for newborns and their families, until they are finally ready to be discharged and go home.
Our NICU is equipped with modern incubators, which create a neutral thermal environment for premature babies to stay in until they are able to regulate their temperature on their own. Therefore, incubators provide them with the perfect amount of oxygen, humidity, and light for their bodies to fully develop.
NICU staff closely monitors patients and is on the lookout for any changes in their condition.
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a specialized area for premature or full-term newborns. The care area is prepared for the admission of patients born within the hospital who require immediate care or outpatients.
Hemodynamic Unit
Our Hemodynamic Unit consists of a fluoroscopic system capable of processing and digitizing X-ray images that are then used for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Plus, it is a space equipped with state-of-the-art Phillips technology, which allows us to perform highly-specialized procedures such as cardiac catheterizations and stent placements.
Molecular Biology Laboratory
The discovery of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA), and therefore, its influence in diagnostic processes, would be a game-changer for the accurate detection of diseases. We are the first hospital to introduce and provide access to the Quintana Roo medical community to one of the 21st-century’s most crucial tools for effective clinical diagnosis.
The technology behind real-time diagnosis by DNA analysis allows for the early detection of pathogens (viruses or bacteria), and therefore, any potential genetic diseases such as cancer.
Clinical Laboratory
Our clinical laboratory is designed to fulfill both national and international norms (NOM-007-SSA3-2001 is specifically aimed at complying with both planning and statistical quality control, as established on ISO 15189), at the same time that its cutting-edge technology positions it as a world-leading laboratory. Additionally, it is a member of the Quality Assurance Program (PACAL, for its Spanish acronym), a certified Mexican company that, over the past twenty years, has conducted monthly evaluations of clinical laboratories across the country, helping them to improve their analytical processes to ensure quality results.
Emergency Unit (ER)
Our ER uses the so-called triage system to determine the priority with which patients should receive treatment, based on the severity of their condition. It assesses their clinical status, the prognosis of the disease, and the available resources to identify those in need of immediate care.
Nurseries
These are spaces especially designed for newborn babies as they need conditioning and ongoing observation in the earliest hours of their lives. Nurseries are safe and restricted areas under 24/7 monitoring. We also offer metabolic and hearing screening, which allow for the early detection of any birth defects. Our pediatricians and neonatologists are credentialed, and they are more than capable of treating all newborn babies in collaboration with the rest of their multidisciplinary medical team.
Imaging and Radiology
Galenia Hospital’s Diagnostic Center relies on new technologies, as well as the expertise of its radiologists and certified technicians, to provide high-quality imaging services, including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, arthritis, among others. More specifically, our diagnostic center is equipped with computerized tomography (CT) scanners, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines, fluoroscope machines, gamma cameras; mammography units, densitometers, ultrasound machines, X-ray machines, and linear accelerators.
Equipment that provides patients with the most advanced technological platform, developed by leading brands that, together with our highly qualified staff, offer each patient timely information required for each type of treatment.
Nuclear Medicine
As a Diagnostic and Treatment Support Service, it involves the use of chemical substances such as radioactive isotopes and radiotracers, which, in most cases, do not cause any allergies or side effects, and provide essentially functional information.
Hospitalization
At Galenia Hospital, we have 55 rooms of various categories, including Presidential Suites, Master Suites, Junior Suites, standard rooms, bariatric rooms, and birthing suites. Birthing suites are specifically adapted for water births, and include a gynecological bed that transforms into a full-electric delivery bed with removable leg holders.
