Gynecological tumors are those that develop in a woman’s reproductive organs, such as the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vulva. These tumors can be benign or malignant, and early diagnosis is key to effective treatment. Among the most common are ovarian, cervical, endometrial, vulvar, and vaginal cancers.
Ovarian cancer is one of the most difficult to detect in its early stages because its symptoms are nonspecific. Cervical cancer, on the other hand, is primarily related to human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, and early detection through cytology is essential to reduce mortality.

Endometrial or uterine cancer generally presents with abnormal bleeding, while vaginal and vulvar tumors are less common but also require clinical attention. Risk factors for developing these tumors include family history, genetics, hormone exposure, and lifestyle habits.
Treatment depends on the type and stage of the tumor and includes surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and, in some cases, hormone therapy. Prevention and regular follow-up with gynecological exams are essential to detect any abnormalities early and improve prognosis.
