“Well, take a painkiller”

Migraine
It is the second most prevalent neurological disorder worldwide and is responsible for more disabilities than all other neurological disorders combined.
Everyone thinks of migraine as a broken heart: “it hurts, but it’s not fatal” (but it does hurt).
Between one-quarter and one-third of migraine patients have transient focal neurological symptoms before or during some of their headaches “aura” – these can be like flashes of light in the eyes, a feeling of numbness in some part of the body, even in extreme cases, weakness of a part of the body. Some patients also experience a prodromal phase, which occurs hours or days before the headache and/or a postdromal phase after the headache has resolved. Prodromal and postdromal symptoms include hyperactivity, hypoactivity, depression, cravings for certain foods, repetitive yawning, fatigue and stiffness and/or neck pain.
